The work in iron and steel was designed in 1962 by American artist Beverly Pepper, at her first approach with sculpture. Along with the works “Nature in Iron” and “Leda”, it was created inside the ITALSIDER plants in Piombino, on the occasion of the famous exhibition “Sculptures In The City”, organized for the 1962 Festival Of Two Worlds by Giovanni Carandente. “The Gift of Icarus” is still placed in the original location it was meant to stay.
